Façade repairs in London
A façade defect is not a repair specification.
A damaged panel, failed joint, loose-looking trim, cracked finish or recurring leak tells us where the problem is visible. It does not always tell us what the correct repair should be.

Establish what needs repairing
Start with the evidence and the intended outcome. Useful information may include:
- defect photographs;
- previous inspection reports;
- drawings;
- system information;
- manufacturer recommendations;
- repair specifications where one already exists.
Close-up inspection may be needed before a repair is priced. The visible symptom is not always the repair cause, so the scope should state what is known and what remains to be established.
Localised remedial work
Localised work may involve an identified panel, joint, trim, finish or façade interface. The method and materials need to suit the system and its movement, drainage and adjacent components.
A neat finish alone does not demonstrate that the technical detail is correct. The accepted scope should identify exclusions and any areas requiring further investigation.
Know when another specialist is needed
Cracked concrete, structural movement, fixing concerns, system failures and specialist materials may require a competent engineer, designer, manufacturer or trade specialist.
SFA does not claim structural or design authority. Those responsibilities must be appointed and documented separately.
Choose access around the repair
Rope access may suit selected locations, but other methods may be better for heavy materials, large workfaces or unsuitable roof and anchor conditions. Access is chosen around the task.
Working on an occupied building
Plan entrances and pedestrian routes, occupied rooms, roof or internal access, working hours, material movement, waste, permits, protection below and inspection or hold points. Any scope change must be agreed.
Close out the actual work
Agree completion photographs, records of the work and unresolved observations. A completion record covers only the agreed localised scope and does not imply inaccessible areas were inspected or repaired.
